If I double click on a folder search window opens. How to correct this?

Quick Fix
  • Click Start->Run
  • Type regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
If this doesn't work try the following

  1. Start -> Run
  2. Type Regedit
  3. Navigate to
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ shell
    In the right-pane, locate and click the (Default) value
    Select Edit menu
    Click Modify
    Locate Value data box
    Type the word none
    Click OK
  4. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Drive \ shell
    In the right-pane, locate and click the (Default) value
    Select Edit menu
    Click Modify
    Locate Value data box
    Type the word none
    Click OK
  5. Exit Registry Editor.
